Luke Haynes has been creating public art installations using quilts for over a decade. His work in the public sphere is driven by a desire to lower the barrier between everyday life and meaningful art experiences—bringing tactile, human-scale works into shared environments where they can be encountered unexpectedly and without pretense.

From large-scale shade structures and suspended quilt tunnels to anonymous affirmation-based interventions, Haynes finds deep purpose in using quilts as a vehicle for accessibility, community engagement, and visual generosity. For him, public art is not just about visibility—it’s about connection.
